Our Perfect Imperfections ♡

So we've seen this tag done a lot on some of our favourite blogs and youtube channels and we think it's time we did it. The aim of this tag is to list 3 aspects of yourself that you like and 3 aspects you don't like, and why. We all have imperfections, things about ourselves that we don't really like. But at the end of the day these imperfections are unique to us and make us who we are. We would never say we 'hate' anything about ourselves because we feel no one should ever hate anything that they were born and blessed with because all those perfect imperfections add up and make you who you are ♡

So let's get started:

Elle's Perfect Imperfections

Imperfections:

1. My hair
Ok so I don't hate my hair at all, I actually really like it but I would love nothing more than to have long, luscious locks down to my Bellybutton. I cut my hair short back in May (hardly makes sense, I know :L), but I did it to get rid of my layers. Since then my hair has grown more than 4 inches, which is pretty amazing. If it keeps growing at this rate I should reach my goal of super long hair in no time :) But for the time being extensions shall suffice for those glamourous nights out ♡

2. My Nose
My nose is probably my least favourite aspect of myself. Again though, I don't hate my nose, it's unique to me and I love it for that but I wouldn't have chosen it myself. I would love nothing more for it to be a little bit smaller but I would never ever go through that plastic surgery thing that other people would. At the end of the day it was the nose I was born and blessed with, it does the job and I wouldn't change it for the world :)

3. My Lips
Big, bold and luscious lips are desirable by every girl, and I'm one of those girls. Unfortunatly I'm one of those girls with small, thin lips and I'd do anything for fuller lips. Being the girly girl that I am, I'm lipstick mad and LOVE bright pinks, reds and oranges, but just wish I had the perfect lips to show off these colours like they deserve to be shown off. Nevertheless my lips are unique to me and I think they're cute, nothing a little bit of my favourite 'Pout' lipgloss and lip liner can't solve - ahhh the magic of makeup ♡

Perfections:

1. My Legs and Body
My legs are definitely my favourite aspect of my body. I was blessed with naturally  long, slim legs and I do everything I can to keep them in shape. They're one of my main areas I focus on throughout my daily fitness routine in order to keep them toned and in shape. I run, walk and do leg exercises with weights everyday. This is in no way bragging about myself at all, I'm simply just stating what my favourite aspect about myself is; I work extremely hard with regards fitness and healthy eating and I'm really happy with my results so why shouldn't I be proud of myself and happy with my body :) ♡

2. My Teeth
I've always had pretty good teeth as a child but like many teenagers I also I had to go through the annoyingly painful experience of braces. Thankfully though I only had to wear them for about 10 or 11 months, mainly because I did exactly as I was told to do by my dentist as I figured the harder I work the quicker I'll get them off, and also I was still in primary school so my appearance wouldn't have been my number one priority :L I was delighted with the results and about 2 years ago I decided to go all out and get my teeth professionally whitened using the 'Bright Smile' method, and it was the best decision I've ever made as its made such a huge difference to my face and smile ♡

3. My Skin
I suffered from eczema as a child but that cleared up very very quickly and since then I'm lucky that I've never really had any problems with my skin. Apart from a few spots every once in awhile I usually have pretty clear skin. I've never suffered from acne or anything like that so I do count myself very lucky in that regard as I really do feel for those who do and all I can say is keep constantly trying to beat it and one day you will be free from it! I do, however, have a very strict routine in how I take care of my skin and ensure to take my makeup off every night, cleanse, tone and moisturise also. I also use body lotion on my body every morning to ensure my skin is smooth and soft, and that it is cared for and treated the way it should be ♡

Bee's Perfect Imperfections

Imperfections:

1. Definitely the fact that my hair is destroyed from dying it so much!! I've been putting highlights in my hair since I was 12 and I'm now 19! I'm trying to get it into better condition but even then it doesn't grow and I'd like to get luscious long hair like everyone else! So I'm not a big fan of my hair!

2. The fact that I worry excessively! It's a horrible trait to have but every little thing makes me worried or stressed and sometimes it doesn't just affect me but my family and friends too!

3. My laziness! I have a love/ hate relationship with myself because I love to just chill at home doing nothing but I hate the fact that I could spend all day doing it! I wish I was more active instead of missing out on life but luckily that's something I can work on! :)

Perfections:

1. Definitely my genetically clear skin, I barely ever break out! It's been really handy to have because I don't have to wear make up all the time!

2. I like my eyebrows! It's weird but because I have quite light eyebrows I can have my hair either brown or blonde which is really cool! :)

3. My legs! My mam has amazing legs still to this day and she's 50+ so its definitely genetics! Thanks mam ;)

Thank you for taking the time to read our post. We'd love to get done feedback? ♡

What I wore - 25th August 13 ♡

On Sunday me and the girls had a big girly night out because it would be the last time we'd all be out together before summer ends and college begins. This summer has been one of the best summers by far, from being in Spain, Portugal and Enniscronce, the Killers concert, and just being surrounded by the ones I love, it's been amazing. In saying that though I'm so looking forward to moving back up to college and for the new year ahead. Anyways, lets get on to the point of this blog: What I wore.

I decided to dress in monochrome that night as monochrome is huge right now and can be seen sported my many of the big celebrities today such as Miley Cyrus, Victoria Beckham, Jessica Alba, and many more. I feel that black and white never ages and can always be worn together to create a classy and elegant outfit that will be admired by many.

I wore the famous white skorts which I purchased in Zara in Portugal for only €25. I was delighted that I finally got a chance to wear them as it took me ages to decided the right top to pair them with. In the end I decided on a black backless halter neck leotard that I purchased on ebay for only €15. Unfortunatly I've a small chest and knew that this top wouldn't look right on me to wear in it's original form so I opted for a sleeveless black spanx top underneath, but I didn't mind as it suited me much better and I wouldn't be the type of girl to show off too much skin anyways. I think this top really suited the skorts as it was plain so it didn't take from the gorgeous white skorts. I paired this top with a chunky gold rock chic type necklace from Portugal for €9 to give my outfit some edge. I also wore pearl earrings from Forever 21 for €1.50, a white watch with a gold face purchased in Portugal for €10 and a gold bangle which I found in my moms jewellery drawer. I wore black strappy heels which I purchased in Born shoes for €10 and they really went well with my whole monochrome look.

I decided to wear my hair straight as I've worn it curly the last few nights out and I recently just got highlights in my hair and straight hair compliments them much more. My hair was styled using foxy locks extensions purchased on their website :)

I hope you like this blogpost and maybe got some inspiration for your next night out ♡

Lets take a step back - 1950's ♡

The 1950's era had a huge impact on the fashion world. With fashionistas such as Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and of course the stunning Audrey Hepburn moving forth in the fashion world and becoming what we know today as THE fashion icons. Marilyn and Audrey especially can be seen everywhere, from posters to wallpaper, to blankets and towels, Tshirts and pyjamas, you name it - they're on it! With the availability of more varietys of fabrics and patterns, women became more fashion focused and wanted to express themselves through there style. The 50's was all about workimg with what you had and not pushing yourself to achieve a 'size zero' body that the fashion world is shoving in our faces today by using stick thin models to advertise their clothing. No, the 50's wash all about working those curves! But no matter how much many of us adore and idolise them, only a few of us look up to them and incorporate their elegance and class into the way we dress and look. This whole society is totally obsessed with becoming stick thin, having a flat stomach, thigh gap, hipbones, etc.. and I blame todays fashion world who seem to promote this carry on by using stick thin models and photoshop to make them 'perfect'. While frilly frocks, long dresses, and elegant gowns was desired back then, to be seen wearing that now would set heads turning, and not in a good way.... Until now! Girls, the 50's is back and better than ever ♡

In the past few years 1950's inspired style icons have appeared and have been welcomed with open arms. This era has been made popular again through stars such as Ariana Grande, Megan fox and of course the beautiful Lana Del Ray, who brings the style of Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe back to life with a modern touch.

How to achieve the 1950's look easily?

Think natural. It's all about a flawless complexion with defined and lined eyes, emphasised eyebrows and big bold lips. It's about working with what you have and not overdoing it. HD brows is a brilliant way to create and shape your eyebrows to suit your complexion, and helps you to achieve that natural, defined look. Cara Delevingne is known for sporting her big, bold, natural eyebrows. Bold colours such as reds, pinks and oranges are brilliant to really define your lips and take you back to that 50's era. Always use a lip liner when trying to achieve this look to give your lips more definitition and to make them appear larger.

Moving on to style - it's all about less is more; and this time I mean less skin, more clothes. It's time to cover up girls and become those classy and elegant ladies we all truly are. Floral is huge right now and can be seen frequently on the likes of Ariana Grande who incorporates it on and off stage, and she looks stunning. Big, puffy dresses are in and look fabulous - a definite must have for a beautiful day out at the races or even for an upcoming wedding. This style is completely evident on the beautiful Lana Del Ray. If dresses aren't for you then long shorts and skirts are huge right now. You could incorporate and long skirt with a shirt tucked into it and a blazer/denim jacket for a normal, everyday 1950's look with a modern touch. I picked up a beautiful mango coloured pair of shorts in Benetton and paired it with a cute cream crop to add a modern touch and received so many compliments ♡

How to incorporate 1950's fashion into everyday wear without looking like try to hard 50's fanatic? The 50's wasn't all about skirts and dresses either, it also took with it high waisted jeans, shorts, crop pants, etc. You can easily incorporate this into your everyday style. Pair some skinny crop pants with your favourite chiffon skirt button up to the top and add a blazer for a modern touch, or grab a pair of high waisted jeans and striped tshirt. It's all about the HighWaisted look with shirts button all the way, plain simple Tshirts, baggy jumpers, socks and dolly shoes. Here's some everyday 50's inspired outfits:

1950's Marilyn Monroe inspired bikinis could be seen everywhere this summer and they looked amazing. The HighWaisted bottoms really emphasised the 1950's body to give curve and definition, leaving you feeling comfortable and confident in your own skin even on the beach. Many celebrities also sported these bikinis this summer, such as Tulisa and Taylor Swift.

The 1950's also brought with it some stunning hair-dos which can be seen on and off the red carpet lately. Natural, sleek curls are beautiful and can be easily achieved the traditional way - by rollers. These can be seen on the likes of Lana Del Ray and Megan Fox and they truly do look so elegant, classy and effortless. Big, volumized up-dos are also huge right now and really do add that finishing touch to an elegant/casual outfit.

Girls, dressing like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, etc... does not have to be expensive. You can pick up many 50's inspired bits and pieces in all the high street stores, so there really is no excuse to not take the plunge and add some class and vintage to your wardrobe! Take a look around the shops the next time your out and pick up a few bits and pieces, and I guarantee you'll be looking like a Audrey Hepburn look alike strutting your stuff down the Main Street ♡

VMA's 2013 Recap

Hey guys! :)

Ok so there is quite a bit to talk about from this years VMA's!! It was quite interesting to say the least!

First off, I have to talk about this whole Miley Cyrus performance that has gone viral!
So I've been quite a big fan of Miley Cyrus since her Hannah Montana days and I've followed her even after it finished! While she did try to break out of her child role a lot earlier than this performance wearing raunchy outfits onstage, smoking a joint and pole dancing on stage...I have to say this just topped it all off!! The fact that she stripped off mid performance into leather underwear and a foam finger as she grinded up against robin thicke was just wrong on so many levels! Her try hard attitude to get people to see her as a mature person has just gone terribly wrong as all i see her as is a slutty teen!! Sorry miley, but I think you've just lost a fan </3 Also as a Fashion Blogger and a human being... I must ask what on earth was she wearing on the red carpet?! I don't even know how to explain the look but it Definately was not appealing or fashionable in any sense!!!
      No Miley,  just no!

Taylor Swift definitely was another big topic of conversation! First of all she was caught on camera mouthing "Shut the f**k up" as One Direction presented an award! Very classy!!... It definitely showed she's not so over her relationship with Harry Styles which was even more obvious when she went up to accept her award for "I knew you were trouble" and said "I also want to thank the person who inspired this song who knows exactly who he is because now I got one of these [moonmen]". The camera then shot to Harry Styles who sat beside Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson and they all smiled quite awkwardly and clapped after she said it! I don't know but she could not have made it any more obvious that she's unot over him if she tried!!

And lastly... One Direction got booed??!!!
Ok I have to admit I was completely shocked when One Direction went up to accept their award for best summer song for "Best Song Ever" and were booed by half the audience there! There may have been other good summer songs but the ratings show their song did the best! Anyways back stage footage on YouTube showed Lady Gaga firstly watching them go up and accept their award on the Live Audience Cam that was on the vma website. She along with many of us looked extremely shocked as they were being booed! She then went backstage after they had accepted their award and told all five of the lads from One Direction that they deserved every bit of their success and should not have been booed.. This proved not only that lady gaga has a heart (who knew?!) but that One Direction did not derserve to be booed! This was also a clip from YouTube!
Lady Gaga as she tells One Direction how they deserved not to be  booed!

Ok so lemme know what ye thought of these incidents at the VMAs 2013 also! ;)

Love,
Betty

BabyLips by Maybelline - Review ♡

I've been on the lookout for Babylips by Maybelline for a long time now since I first saw them in a picture on Instagram. My first impression was 'I need one' because of how cute and pretty the packaging looked. I looked in every shop that sold Maybelline and had no luck. I was just about to give up when I was shopping one day with my best friend and we decided to go into a department store called Shaws, and low and behold hanging there on the Maybelline stall was endless packets of Babylips, AND they were on sale from €7 to €4, so I was over the moon :)

I purchased the pink one which is called 'Pink Punch' and it smells absolutly amazing! I think the name really does match the smell and taste of these lipbalms.

The thing I love about these lipbalms is that they are not heavily pigmented but they do give a little splash of colour to brighten up your face. I'm not a fan of wearing heavy lipsticks during the day, but I'm also not a fan of going au natural, so this has given me a happy medium which I love! The colour I purchased is a very cool toned pink, nearly like a bubblegum pink; very pretty and very girly. It actually is much nicer on your lips than you would expect when looking at it in the tube.

The texture of these lipbalms is perfect. It's not too heavy and thick, and it glides easily on to your lips. The only negative thing I would say is that you do have to apply at least 2 coats if it to ensure its even and soaks nicely into your lips.

All in all I'm completely satisfied with this product. The packaging is cute and pretty, the fragrance is fun and the results are satisfactory. It's a really affordable and cute product to throw in your bag and your good to go

Blogging like I used to - Bebo Style ♡

So at the moment I'm lying in bed sick and decided to take a wander onto the social networking site Bebo to relive that glorious time when everyone was addicted :D One thing that I always remember from that period of time was blogging. I used to blog about 4+ questionnaires a day on my blog section of my page and it got me thinking that since I have a real blog now I should relive that period of my life and do the skin and makeup tag (one which I actually did back when I was only 15/16 years old :P). So, lets begin...

SKINCARE:

1. How many times do you wash your face daily?
Twice; first thing in the morning when I wake up, and last thing at night.

2. What skin type do you have?
Normal skin. Thankfully I was blessed with clear skin.

3. What is your current facial wash?
My Skin rise and glow daily face wash! Absolutly love it. You should check out my review :)

4. Do you exfoliate?
Not my face, but I do exfoliate my body after every shower. I feel the face wash I use does the job!

5. What brand do you use?
My skin

6. What moisturizer do you use?
At the moment I use Clarins vital light day, which is a light moisturizer that leaves your skin feeling super smooth and soft.

7. Do you have freckles?
Only when the sun comes out and I get little ones on my nose; but I think it's cute :D

8. Do you use eye cream?
Sometimes I use eye gel when I have it but at the moment I don't. It's better for your eyes if you do use it as the skin around your eyes is quite sensitive.

9. Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
No, luckily I've never had any problems with my skin.

10. Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
No

MAKE-UP:

11. What foundation do you use?
It depends on what I'm doing and where I'm going. My everyday foundation is either Mac Face and Body, Clarins BB cream or Sephora Brightening and Hydrating. My going out foundation is either Clarins Ever Lasting, No7 Natural Radiance or Yves St Laurent Touché Éclat. My foundation collection is ridiculous.

12. How about concealer?
I have yet to find that perfect concealer, but at the moment I'm using either MaxFactors cover up stick, No7 concealer stick or collection 17 concealer.

13. Do you know your undertone colour?
Neutral tones. I tan extremely easily and never ever burn, so at the moment after just coming home from Spain and Portugal I'm very very dark.

14. What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I love them but only the individual ones. I'm not a fan of strip lashes as they look very fake.

15. Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
I never knew that, but that's not a problem for me as I tend to impulse but mascaras Everytime I go shopping :L

16. What brand of mascara do you use?
Surprisingly enough - Lacura from Aldi :L read a review about it in a magazine, purchased it for just over €1 and I am obsessed. Seriously girls try it!!

17. Sephora or MAC?
Hmmm that's a tough one. Mac for eyeshadow and lipsticks, Sephora for brushes and foundation. But then again I love Macs foundation.

18. Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
Nooo :( But Bee does, the lucky duck!!

19. What makeup tools do you use in make-up application?
Stipple brush, powder brush, contour brush, blush brush, blending brush, beauty blender, and of course my fingers!

20. Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
I do indeed! I use either nyx eyeshadow base or urban decay.

21. For the face?
Bought Macs prep and prime - Rubbish unless you use a load! But I do use Nuxe face and body oil before makeup application and it gives a fabulous long, lasting glow :)

22. What is your favourite eye shadow (colour or shade)?
That's tough as I always blend colours. Anything in the Naked palettes - nudes, browns, baby pinks.

23. Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Maybelline's gel pot eyeliner.

24. How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Never because I don't use one and I don't ever line my waterline.

25. What do you think of pigment eye shadows?
Love them but only if you've a lot of patience. Good for nights out.

26. Do you use mineral makeup?
No but I used to use Jane Iredale mineral makeup and I loved it. Might try it out again soon :)

27. What is your favourite lipstick?
I love my Chanel lipstain palette. I also love Baby Lips Pink Punch by Maybelline for a nice everyday look.

28. How about lipgloss?
I love Pouts lipglosses.

29. What is your favourite blush to use?
I love Macs blush cream in the colour Brit Wit.

30. Do you buy your makeup on eBay?
Oh god no!! Do people actually do that?

31. Do you like drugstore makeup?
Of course, they can be just as good or even better. I love Maybelline, Me Me Me!, Rimmel, IsaDora, No7, etc..

32. Do you go to CCO's? (Cosmetic company outlets)
There's none anywhere near where I live :( Maybe that's a good thing though for my purses sake :L

33. Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
No not really.

34. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
No, but I'm definitely not the best at it!

35. Name a makeup crime that you hate?
When foundation just ends right on someone's jawline and they don't blend it down into their neck, and panda eyes. They are the worst.

36. Do you like colourful shades of makeup?
Not on me but they look nice on some people.

37. If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Probably just lipbalm, because that's what I usually wear if I decide bit to wear makeup :)

38. Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Easily.

39. Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I wouldn't say I look good, but I don't look bad either. I just look normal

40.What do you think of Makeup?
Well I wrote a blogpost dedicated to it, need I say more? :D

Thank you for taking the time to read this :D I hope to get started on my August favourite post tomorrow. Talk to you then

Love,
Lorna (Elle) xxx
